I do not watch t.v. Ask me about local actors, I am dumbfounded. Ask me about the latest t.v. commercials, I just smile.
The first time I heard about the McDo Cheeseburger/Burger (?) commercial was when I went out with my highschool friends three days ago. One of them cracked up a burger joke. Obviously, I didn't get it. So, Cathy explained that it's from a t.v. commercial.
The day before my graduation, I was texting with my friend Jay. He congratulated me and said, "pa-libre namang cheeseburger," or something to that effect. It didn't occur to me that.... McDo commercial. Haha... So, I replied, "Sure. Sometime next week?"
Loser.
At the general commencement exericise, the CSSP prepared a gimmick. When one of their colleagues went up the stage, they started shoutin.. "Burger... burger... burger..." I was like, "What's up with them?!" My seatmates, stared back at me with a "Seriously?!?" look. Again, they had to explain. And that was the only time that t.v. commercial really had sunk in. That's when I realized that Jay was just joking around.
And so, last night, I texted him. "Jay, about the burger.. I didn't know it was a joke. haha!" :)
